LIBBEY GLASS WORKS
Mr. Libbey the founder of the glass making company of the 18th century
The Libbey's most famous glass work, the glass spun dress
The World's Fair held alot of amazing features, but the Libbey Glass Working Company was one of the top features. Mr. Edward Drummond Libbey who created ths amazing company started out in Toledo,Ohio with a much smaller company. He took off on his own and eventualy created this amazing company. The company started off slow but by the time the Worlds Fair came to view they were the hit of the show. Hos most remarkable invention/creation, was the glass spun dress. This was a beautiful dress, but was really to heavy to wear around, so it was mostly for show. Mr. Libby died in the year 1925 at the age of 71, after making a wonderful company. Today Libbey Glass Works is still in business.
